During his speech at the BRICS Summit, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi delivered a clear and decisive address, strongly criticizing Israeli policies and practices in Gaza and the West Bank. He warned against ongoing attempts to displace Palestinians and liquidate the Palestinian cause.
El-Sisi pointed out that over the past two years, Israel has deliberately resorted to extreme methods of killing and intimidation, exploiting siege, starvation, and deprivation of health services as weapons against civilians. He noted that these actions have led to a severe humanitarian crisis, to the extent that the United Nations declared famine in Gaza.
The Egyptian president highlighted the escalation of Israeli military operations aimed at paralyzing daily life in the Palestinian territories, stressing that their ultimate goal is to push Palestinians to leave their land as part of a forced displacement plan. He reiterated Egypt’s firm rejection of any schemes designed to alter the demographic structure of Palestinian lands or eliminate the cause by expelling the Palestinian people, considering such measures a devastating blow to the two-state solution.

In another context, El-Sisi renewed Egypt’s condemnation of Israeli practices intended to consolidate control over the West Bank through settlement building and attempts to alter its legal status. He affirmed that such moves undermine the prospects of establishing an independent Palestinian state and impose a new reality that threatens Palestinian rights.
He also shed light on Egypt’s extensive efforts to achieve a ceasefire, ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid, and secure the release of detainees. He pointed to a comprehensive Egyptian plan for the reconstruction of Gaza, which has received broad Arab and international support, noting Cairo’s intention to host an international conference on reconstruction once hostilities come to an end.
The Egyptian president urged world leaders to support the two-state solution, calling for the recognition of the Palestinian people’s right to establish their independent state along the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, to achieve peace and stability in the region and worldwide.
El-Sisi also expressed his dismay at what he described as international double standards and a blatant violation of international law. He stressed that the continuation of such an approach threatens the foundations of global security and peace, dragging humanity back to an era of chaos and lawlessness, where force has become a tool to impose will and secure narrow interests at the expense of major humanitarian crises.
