The new Sports Law, approved following President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s ratification, includes several key provisions aimed at regulating the sports sector in Egypt. The most notable articles are as follows:
-
It is prohibited to combine membership of more than one sports federation board, as well as combining membership of a federation board with membership of a sports club board. In addition, it is not allowed to combine membership of a federation board with employment within the same federation, whether paid or unpaid, or with employment in any other sports entity. An exception is made for members of the Egyptian Olympic Committee and the Egyptian Paralympic Committee.

-
The new regulations prohibit holding matches with foreign teams, inside or outside Egypt, without prior approval from the relevant sports federation and in coordination with the central administrative authority.
-
Regarding the representation of sports federations in international conferences and meetings, representatives must obtain prior approval from the central administrative authority.
These amendments aim to enhance organization and transparency in the sports landscape, ensuring greater stability and sound management in line with both national and international standards.
