President El-Sisi Reaffirms to Macron Egypt’s Firm Stance Rejecting Any Attempt to Displace Palestinians

A phone call was held between President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and French President Emmanuel Macron. Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic, stated that the call discussed developments in bilateral relations between Egypt and France. Both leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening joint cooperation and activating the strategic partnership agreement between the two countries, particularly in the fields of economy, trade, and investment, reflecting Cairo and Paris’ commitment to enhancing and advancing relations across various sectors.

Ambassador El-Shenawy further explained that the call addressed the latest regional developments, where the Egyptian President presented Egypt’s efforts to reach an agreement for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the release of hostages and detainees, as well as ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid amid the worsening humanitarian situation inside the enclave.

In this context, President El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s rejection of any attempts aimed at displacing the Palestinian people or undermining their legitimate rights. He stressed the necessity of establishing an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The ambassador noted that the French President praised Egypt’s active role in working to halt the war, stressing the importance of reaching a just settlement to the Palestinian cause based on the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions, in addition to expediting the process of reconstruction in the Gaza Strip.

President El-Sisi also reiterated Egypt’s welcome of France’s forthcoming decision to recognize the State of Palestine in September 2025, considering this step a significant advancement toward supporting the rights of the Palestinian people and enabling them to obtain their full legitimate rights.

The official spokesperson confirmed that both presidents agreed to continue cooperation and coordination between Egypt and France in light of the rapid developments in the Middle East, particularly with the convergence of views on many shared issues and crises. This reflects the strength and resilience of the strategic relations between the two countries.
