President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting today with several senior officials, including Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Interior Major General Mahmoud Tawfik, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Amr Talaat, Head of General Intelligence Major General Hassan Rashad, Acting Head of the Administrative Control Authority Major General Amr Adel Hosni, and Director of the Armed Forces’ Signal Department Major General Hany Mahmoud Mansour.
Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy stated that President El-Sisi reviewed during the meeting a detailed report on plans to upgrade telecommunications networks to enhance their efficiency and expand coverage areas, ensuring high-quality services for citizens. In this context, the President directed the need for continuous support of network capabilities, expansion of coverage zones, and optimal utilization of modern technologies, particularly fifth-generation (5G) applications.
The spokesman added that the main meeting was followed by a smaller session in which the Minister of Communications and Information Technology presented an overview of the ministry’s activities. He highlighted that from November 2022 to 2024, 74 outsourcing companies signed commitments to employ 60,000 specialists in Egypt. He also noted that the country currently hosts more than 260 outsourcing centers, including nearly 190 centers belonging to international companies.

In the field of electronics design, the minister pointed out that 83 companies are operating in 2025, with a plan to increase this number to 120 companies by 2028. He further emphasized that Egypt holds a leading position in the region in terms of attracting investment targeted at startups in the communications and information technology sector.
The spokesman confirmed that President El-Sisi stressed the full support provided by the state to this vital sector, calling for the launch of initiatives and the establishment of specialized centers to qualify highly skilled national talent. He emphasized the importance of selecting the most capable individuals objectively and providing them with advanced training. The President also highlighted the need for clear and actionable strategies to implement artificial intelligence technologies, with a focus on scientific research, development, and continuous training. Moreover, he called for the optimal use of available resources to achieve maximum benefit.
