Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a high-level meeting with representatives from Horizon Company to follow up on the operational rollout of the Central Business District (CBD) in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Housing, the New Urban Communities Authority, and representatives from Incom Company.
At the outset of the meeting, Minister El-Sherbiny emphasized the critical importance of adhering to the highest operational and maintenance standards in line with signed protocols and agreements. He stressed the need for compliance with occupational safety and health standards, as well as civil protection requirements, to safeguard the major investments made in the project. He pointed out that the CBD project is the first of its kind in Egypt and serves as a landmark within the New Administrative Capital. As such, its successful operation must align with global standards.
The meeting addressed key steps for forming specialized operational teams and providing them with appropriate training prior to the project’s launch. Emphasis was placed on securing certified training from relevant authorities. A detailed overview was also provided on the district’s electronic control, operation, and monitoring systems, along with the implementation of modern technologies to manage and run the area effectively. The Minister called for the acceleration of all administrative and coordination processes between executing and operating parties, in line with the project’s set timeline.
The Central Business District in the New Administrative Capital features a collection of multipurpose towers. This includes 10 towers designated for administrative, office, commercial, and service activities, covering a total area of 806,000 square meters with building heights ranging from 80 to 175 meters. Additionally, the district includes five residential towers comprising 1,700 fully finished residential units with a total area of approximately 102,000 square meters, reaching heights between 152 and 200 meters. A distinctive feature of the district is the crescent-shaped cluster of four interconnected towers dedicated to hotel services, hotel apartments, public services, entertainment, and retail. These towers rise to a height of 64 meters.
