President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received today Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, Commander of the Libyan National Army, in the city of El Alamein, in the presence of several military leaders.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic, affirmed the depth of the relations between Egypt and Libya, stressing that Libya’s stability is an essential component of Egypt’s national security.
President El-Sisi emphasized Egypt’s efforts to support security and stability in Libya, and to strengthen the unity of Libyan state institutions. He highlighted the importance of coordination among Libyan parties to hold simultaneous elections and to confront foreign interference.
