A Real Estate Regulatory Authority to Be Established Soon in Egypt

Dr. Abdel Khalek Ibrahim, the Assistant Minister of Housing for Technical Affairs, confirmed that the New Urban Communities Authority has established a special unit aimed at regulating the real estate market in Egypt. He revealed that this unit is expected to be transformed into an independent authority or body in the near future.

During his interview on the “Hona Al-Gomhouria Al-Gedida” program aired on Al-Nahar TV, Ibrahim emphasized the importance of classifying real estate developers and marketers in Egypt. He also highlighted the necessity of assigning a unified identification number for each property as part of enhancing governance in the real estate sector.

He added that exporting real estate, whether in the form of units or land, represents a significant source for increasing foreign currency inflows, thereby contributing to strengthening Egypt’s foreign reserves. Ibrahim also noted that the country’s current security stability plays a key role in attracting investors to the real estate sector in the upcoming period.
