The Official Gazette, in its issue No. 23, published two laws ratified by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi concerning amendments to certain provisions of the House of Representatives and Senate laws.
The president approved Law No. 84 of 2025, which includes amendments to specific articles of the Senate Law No. 141 of 2020.
According to Article One of the new law, the texts of Articles (3/first paragraph, 4/second paragraph, and 11/second and fourth paragraphs) of the Senate Law have been replaced.
The law addresses several aspects, including the number of electoral districts and seats, in addition to the documentation required for candidacy applications. A table was included in the law specifying the individual candidacy system electoral districts and the number of allocated seats for each.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi also ratified Law No. 85 of 2025, which includes amendments to certain provisions of the House of Representatives Law No. 46 of 2014 and Law No. 174 of 2020, related to the division of electoral districts for parliamentary elections.
Article One of Decree No. 85 of 2025 states that the texts of Articles (4/first paragraph, 5, and 10) of the House of Representatives Law No. 46 of 2014 have been replaced.
