President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in the presence of Dr. Badr Abdel Aaty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Egyptian Expatriates, as well as Major General Hassan Rashad, Head of General Intelligence.
The official spokesperson for the Presidency stated that the Iranian Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Masoud Pezeshkian. President El-Sisi expressed his gratitude, and both sides affirmed the importance of continuing efforts to explore avenues for joint cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, the official spokesperson, added that the meeting addressed the rapidly evolving situation in the region. President El-Sisi reiterated Egypt’s firm stance against the expansion of conflict, emphasizing the urgent need to de-escalate in order to avoid sliding into a full-scale regional war that could negatively impact the security and resources of all nations and peoples in the region. In this context, he also highlighted the importance of the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States.
