Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting with Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Urban Planning, and Colonel Dr. Bahaa El-Ghannam, Executive Director of the Egypt Future Sustainable Development Authority.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, Official Spokesperson of the Presidency, explained that during the meeting, President El-Sisi reviewed the latest updates on the work progress of the Egypt Future Sustainable Development Authority projects.
These projects aim to provide high-quality agricultural products at affordable prices to citizens and achieve self-sufficiency in strategic commodities. The discussion also included the status of the strategic stockpile of various basic commodities and ensuring sufficient balances of these stocks to guarantee the continuous fulfillment of citizens’ needs.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy pointed out that the President was briefed on efforts to enhance strategic commodities availability alongside projects to increase storage capacities for essential goods and crops. The launch of a grain silo storage project was also highlighted to strengthen year-round storage. President El-Sisi directed the provision of support mechanisms for these projects, ensuring the availability of strategic stocks of basic commodities for adequate durations and increasing the size of the stockpile in coordination with relevant authorities.
