President El-Sisi Receives Phone Call from Keir Starmer and Reaffirms Rejection of Liquidating the Palestinian Cause

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call today from the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer.

Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic, stated that the call addressed ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries. The discussion included a review of economic, trade, and investment relations, with both sides affirming their desire to develop these ties and explore new avenues of cooperation across various sectors. They also emphasized the importance of continuing consultation and coordination at the political level to serve their mutual interests.

The call also covered regional developments, where the British Prime Minister listened to President El-Sisi’s perspective on the situation in the Gaza Strip and Egypt’s efforts, in cooperation with Qatar and the United States, to achieve a ceasefire and deliver humanitarian aid. President El-Sisi reiterated Egypt’s rejection of any attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause or displace the Palestinian people, stressing the importance of supporting the Arab-Islamic plan for the reconstruction of Gaza. The President also appreciated the UK’s positive stance on the Palestinian issue, and both sides agreed to maintain coordination regarding regional and international developments.
