Continue Developing Maritime and Navigational Services According to the Highest Standards

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Admiral Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, and Mostafa El-Dagishy, Chairman of the Board of the South Red Sea Shipyard Company.

The official spokesperson for the Presidency stated that President El-Sisi was briefed on the latest updates regarding navigation in the Suez Canal and the ongoing efforts to maintain the level of maritime and navigational services despite current international and regional challenges. These efforts include the addition of new navigational services and the continuation of projects to develop the canal’s navigational course.

In this context, it was noted that the development project for the southern sector of the canal has been completed and entered full operation in February 2025. Additionally, the Ismailia Water Station has been established with a total capacity of 180,000 cubic meters, and new marine units have been brought into service. Updates were also provided on the various projects being carried out by the Authority and its affiliated companies, the activities of the Authority’s Research Center, and the current status of constructing new floating bridges, clearing the inlets of Lake Bardawil, and upgrading fishing docks.

The meeting, which was attended by Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, the official spokesperson, also addressed the efforts to develop the Suez Canal Authority’s maritime fleet, including the reinforcement of the fleet with new units to ensure navigation efficiency and keep pace with the growing volume of global trade. Plans were also presented for the construction of tugboats and fishing vessels using advanced technology. The President stressed the importance of enhancing communication with clients, strengthening relations with major shipping lines, further developing maritime services to meet the highest quality standards, and creating new job opportunities in the shipbuilding industry.
