On Tuesday evening, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, received Imad Al-Din Adawi, Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, along with his accompanying delegation at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting was held to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries and to explore how Sudan could benefit from Egypt’s urban development experience during President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s tenure.
The Minister of Housing welcomed the Sudanese ambassador and affirmed the Ministry’s full readiness to support their brothers in Sudan. He also expressed his keenness to deepen collaboration across all sectors of the Ministry’s work, including capacity building and sharing Egypt’s expertise in construction and urban planning.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny highlighted the extensive experience gained by Egyptian contracting companies in executing urban development projects, which qualifies them to operate in other African countries. In turn, Ambassador Imad Al-Din Adawi expressed his admiration for Egypt’s progress in the housing sector and emphasized Sudan’s interest in leveraging Egyptian expertise for infrastructure development.
The meeting concluded with a discussion of proposals for joint cooperation, and both sides agreed to enhance communication in the fields of housing and utilities.
