Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, received Richard Mutayoba Makanzo, the Ambassador of Tanzania to Egypt, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. During the meeting, they discussed enhancing cooperation between the two countries and presented Egypt’s urban development experience under President El-Sisi. El-Sherbiny affirmed the Ministry’s readiness to share its expertise in urban development with Tanzania, including capacity building and the implementation of projects such as the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Dam Project.
The Minister of Housing emphasized that Egyptian contracting companies, whether from the private or public sector—foremost among them the Arab Contractors Company—have acquired extensive experience in implementing urban development projects. These companies possess advanced capabilities in the production of construction materials, in addition to skilled human resources, substantial equipment, and a highly trained labor force. As a result, they have become capable of executing a wide range of projects outside Egypt, particularly in support of sisterly nations across the African continent.
The Egyptian Minister of Housing expressed his desire to enhance cooperation with Tanzania in the fields related to the Ministry’s work, confirming Egypt’s willingness to offer support and share its expertise. He highlighted the “Julius Nyerere” Dam and Hydropower Plant Project as one of the most significant collaborative efforts between the two nations. For his part, Richard Mutayoba Makanzo expressed his pleasure in meeting the Egyptian minister and his eagerness to pursue further cooperation in urban development and infrastructure.
