Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, confirmed that President El-Sisi had directed efforts to provide suitable housing for all citizens, leading to the recent launch of many housing units. He explained that the country requires approximately 450,000 housing units annually to meet population growth. Currently, 100,000 housing units are being developed for low- and middle-income citizens. The presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians 5” has witnessed significant demand, with ongoing efforts to launch new units to meet the increasing demand.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny pointed out that the ministry oversees 24 fourth-generation new cities and cities from previous generations. Developing new urban communities aims to establish investment cities like New Suez City. The Housing Minister also highlighted regular meetings with private sector companies to provide housing units and various housing projects for middle-income, upper-middle, and luxury housing segments. Plans are also in place to launch new residential projects soon.
A comprehensive study has assessed citizens’ housing needs, focusing on introducing new housing projects to meet the rising demand. The Housing Minister emphasized the importance of drinking water and sanitation infrastructure, highlighting extensive implementation, operation, and monitoring efforts. He stressed the need to ensure water quality and operational efficiency through regular sampling.
