Engineer Ammar Mandour, Head of the Capital Gardens City Authority, met with representatives of the local community to discuss their suggestions and concerns. The meeting was held in line with directives from Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, to foster community participation through regular meetings with residents of new cities.
During the meeting, Engineer Mandour emphasized the Authority’s commitment to direct communication with residents, ensuring their voices are heard and addressing challenges within the scope of the Authority’s responsibilities.
He reviewed recent achievements, including:
- Completion and regular operation of Water Pump Station No. 2, resolving water supply issues in elevated areas.
- Beautification and development of Entrance No. 2 from the Regional Road near the tunnel.
- Landscaping the central island along Imam Al-Shafi’i Axis, spanning 4 km from the tunnel to the new Authority building.
- Completion of landscaping and site coordination for 49 residential buildings (from Building 57 to Building 62) and ongoing cleaning operations.
Maintenance and cleaning contracts were awarded for 412 buildings, with plans to extend coverage to an additional 331 buildings based on occupancy rates.
Other enhancements included:
- Increasing the quota of subsidized bread and opening two distribution outlets.
- Installing an ATM near the post office and planning for another at the new Authority building.
- Setting up two “Aman” kiosks to serve specific residential areas.
- Allocating land for two mosques and initiating licensing procedures for construction. Additionally, a church plot has been designated and is under approval, while land has been handed over to the National Bank of Egypt for development.
Residents raised concerns and presented their requests during the meeting. Engineer Mandour provided detailed responses, addressing their inquiries and assigning issues to the relevant departments for prompt resolution. He emphasized the Authority’s dedication to expediting solutions and maintaining open lines of communication to ensure the city’s development aligns with residents’ needs.
