Housing Minister Follows Up on “Housing for All Egyptians” Initiative Progress

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, reviewed the progress of residential units under the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians – Low- and Middle-Income Segments” in New Cairo, 10th of Ramadan City, and Capital Gardens City. The updates were based on recent site inspection results.

The Minister emphasized the urgency of completing the units to allocate them to designated citizens or meet the growing demand for housing. He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to provide suitable housing for all societal segments. This is achieved through a three-pronged policy:

  1. Support for Low-Income Groups – The government subsidizes more than half the unit cost through direct and indirect support.
  2. Assistance for Middle-Income Groups – Offering suitable housing options tailored to their financial capacities.
  3. Availability for Higher-Income Groups – Revenue from this segment is used to support the low-income group and improve unsafe areas, promoting social justice.
