Minister of Housing to Inspect Sun Capital Project in West Cairo

Tomorrow, Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, will visit the “Sun Capital” project in West Cairo. He will be accompanied by Eng. Tarek Shoukry, non-executive founder of Arabia Holding, and several company officials.

Sun Capital: A Flagship Public-Private Partnership

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly previously highlighted Sun Capital as one of Egypt’s pioneering projects under the public-private partnership model. The development aligns with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s vision to establish West Cairo as Egypt’s premier tourist hub.

Project Highlights

Spanning 575 acres in the heart of 6th of October City, Sun Capital integrates residential and mixed-use spaces:

  • Residential Zone: Covers 60% of the project, featuring 12,000 residential units with diverse architectural designs.
  • Mixed-Use Zone: Includes commercial, administrative, hospitality, educational, and healthcare facilities, totaling 1.8 million square meters of built space.

Located strategically near key highways, including the Dabaa Road, Sun Capital offers unparalleled accessibility to major regions and directly overlooks the Giza Pyramids.

Key Achievements

  • Completed Units: Over 7,000 residential units from the first three phases, with 2,000 units already delivered to residents.
  • Employment: The project has generated 20,000 direct and indirect job opportunities.
  • Hospitality Investments:
    • A Fairmont hotel with 400 rooms and 620 serviced units (investment: EGP 12 billion).
    • IHG-branded Holiday Inn and Staybridge hotels with 250 and 150 rooms, respectively, alongside 400 serviced apartments (investment: EGP 6 billion).

Vision for the Future

Sun Capital aims to become a fully integrated urban community that combines tourism, residential living, and modern services. Eng. Tarek Shoukry expressed gratitude for the Ministry of Housing’s ongoing support, emphasizing the project’s contribution to Egypt’s development goals despite global challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical tensions.

This inspection underscores the government’s commitment to fostering partnerships and ensuring quality developments in Egypt’s fourth-generation cities.
