Minister of Housing Reviews Wastewater System Developments in 10th of Ramadan City

On Wednesday evening, Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting to review the current status of the wastewater and industrial drainage system in 10th of Ramadan City. The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Housing, the New Urban Communities Authority, the city’s local authority, and the project’s consultant.

The primary goal of the meeting was to assess the existing situation and discuss the implementation of urgent and long-term solutions to accommodate the increasing wastewater flow due to rapid industrial growth in the city.

Minister’s Directions for Future Planning
Eng. El-Sherbiny emphasized the importance of creating a long-term strategy and plan to manage the expected increase in both sewage and industrial wastewater. He pointed out the accelerated development in the city and the growing demand for industrial activity, driven by the government’s efforts to support and stimulate the industrial sector. He stressed the importance of adhering to international standards for operation, maintenance, and management of the city’s wastewater systems.

He also highlighted the urgency of speeding up the implementation of immediate solutions to handle the rising volume of industrial wastewater, pushing for higher performance rates and increasing manpower and equipment to meet the demand.

Maximizing the Use of Treated Water
El-Sherbiny underscored the need to optimize the use of tertiary treated water for its designated purposes according to international standards. This aligns with directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who has emphasized the importance of sustainable water management practices.

The minister concluded by stressing the necessity for collaboration among all concerned parties to ensure timely and high-quality implementation of the necessary projects, contributing to the sustainable development of 10th of Ramadan City.
