Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, recently met with members of the Egyptian Parliament, including both the House of Representatives and the Senate, to discuss the housing, water supply, and sanitation projects affecting their constituencies. The meeting was attended by senior officials from the ministry and its affiliated executive bodies.
Commitment to Addressing Constituency Concerns
During the meeting, Minister El-Sherbiny emphasized his commitment to addressing the requests from parliament members within the existing regulations to benefit citizens. He highlighted that all ministry departments are working diligently to implement development and service projects that aim to enhance the quality of life for the public, following the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Strategic Marketing for Housing Units
Minister El-Sherbiny also stressed the importance of developing professional marketing strategies for housing units, including launching high-level promotional campaigns. He called for setting specific timelines for these marketing plans, with continuous monitoring and evaluation to achieve the desired objectives. The goal is to maximize the utilization of the available housing units managed by the New Urban Communities Authority, increase financial returns, and boost occupancy rates in the new cities.
Ongoing Efforts in Urban Development
The minister pointed out that the Egyptian government, represented by the Ministry of Housing, has made significant efforts in executing various housing projects to meet the needs of different segments of society. The ministry continues to play a crucial role in urban development projects, partially funded by the marketing of targeted projects.
Enhancing the Alamein New City Heritage Area
El-Sherbiny also underscored the need to expedite the landscaping and site coordination around the distinctive branch of the Documentation Office in New Alamein City. He instructed the installation of clear signage to guide citizens to the office, which is located within the Heritage City area. The minister also reviewed ongoing projects in the Heritage City, which spans 260 acres and includes around 70 structures.
This comprehensive approach aims to ensure that the ministry’s projects are aligned with the public’s needs and that they contribute to the overall development and modernization of Egypt’s urban infrastructure.
