Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, received the Algerian Ambassador to Cairo, Mohamed Soufiane, at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to discuss strengthening cooperation in housing and urban development.
The minister welcomed the ambassador, praising the historic relations between the two countries and their mutual commitment to enhancing cooperation across various fields. He emphasized Egypt’s significant progress in urban development and infrastructure under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in recent years, aimed at improving citizens’ quality of life.

He also highlighted the promising investment opportunities in Egypt and the capabilities of Egyptian companies in urban development, infrastructure, and new cities, affirming their readiness to share expertise with sisterly nations.
The meeting addressed ways to enhance cooperation in housing projects, infrastructure development, smart cities, and the restoration of heritage areas, in addition to providing technical studies and consultancy services.
The Algerian ambassador praised the strong brotherly relations between the two countries and the importance of strengthening joint cooperation. He expressed his admiration for the New Administrative Capital as an example of ambitious national projects and congratulated the minister on the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, noting that it is a source of pride for all Arabs.
